Bo's mother worked with Lex at Luthorcorp on a top secret project involving black kryptonite but one day there was an accident at the lab while she was pregnant and it led to her having her baby 4 months premature and killing her. Lex and his life partner, Boyd Crowder, adopted her poor orphan daughter who was born with long blonde hair and named her Bo Lionel after their fathers (whose names were Bo and Lionel).

Bo is spunky, quirky, and fierce and she likes fast cars and explosions but she has a soft side too and loves puppies, kittens, and attending Sunday School. Her fathers trained her from an early age in the use of weapons and war and Boyd gave her her first rocket launcher when she was 13. She is only 18 but is second in command at Luthorcorp and gives sermons at Boyd's church every other weekend and because she was given a good camera by Lois for saving her life she sometimes does photoshoots for the Daily Planet.

Due to the kryptonite exposure to her pregnant mother she can also shoot lasers from her nipples at will but they don't put holes in her shirts. She is also immune to disease like Lex is because of an accident at the lab when she was a teenager.
